Grammy-winning artist Will.i.am is embracing artificial intelligence to revolutionize the radio industry with a new platform called Radio.FYI. As the founder and CEO of FYI.AI, Will.i.am is introducing an AI-infused conversational media platform that aims to redefine how we interact with radio.

A New Era for Radio: AI with a Personal Touch

Unlike traditional radio, which delivers content but lacks interactivity, Radio.FYI is designed to engage listeners in real-time conversations. Will.i.am envisions a platform where an AI DJ can hold a million conversations at once—something no human could achieve. The AI can answer questions like, “What song is this?” or “Who produced it?” while also providing news, sports, and business updates.

Natural Conversations with AI

One of the key goals for Radio.FYI is to create a more natural interaction with AI. Will.i.am emphasized that he wanted his AI to feel more like a real person rather than the robotic responses of virtual assistants like Siri or Alexa. “It sounds like a real person. It was important that the AI felt like somebody I knew or that we grew up with,” he said, explaining that the platform is built to reflect the way people actually speak.

In addition to its innovative features, Radio.FYI is designed with user privacy in mind. Will.i.am assured that data collected by the platform won’t be sold or exploited. “Our architecture is we try to make sure that everybody has a safe environment to communicate and express,” he explained.
