• Generative AI financial scammers are getting very good at duping work email - Armed with tools like ChatGPT or its dark web equivalent FraudGPT, criminals can easily create realistic videos of profit and loss statements, fake IDs, false identities or even convincing deepfakes of company executives using their voice and image.

• Iran-backed hackers interrupt UAE, UK and Canadian programming with fake AI news broadcast - The programming was interrupted with a fake news report on Gaza featuring graphic images and what appeared to be an AI-generated anchor – the first time Iran has used AI in this way in its influence operations.

• A new way to let AI chatbots converse all day without crashing - In some methods, when this cache needs to hold more information than it has capacity for, the first pieces of data are bumped out. This can cause the model to fail. By ensuring that these first few data points remain in memory, the researchers’ method allows a chatbot to keep chatting no matter how long the conversation goes.

• Microsoft says it caught hackers from China, Russia and Iran using its AI tools - "Independent of whether there's any violation of the law or any violation of terms of service, we just don't want those actors that we've identified to have access to this technology," Microsoft Vice President for Customer Security Tom Burt said.

• Children’s Hospital LA launches AI-driven ER patient app - The AI-powered app gives families real-time updates on wait times, labs and imaging results, and tracks progress toward discharge during pediatric emergency visits.

• TikTok Combats Misinformation, AI Fakes Ahead of EU Election - TikTok plans to launch local language in-app "election centers" next month for each of the 27 EU countries so that "people can easily separate fact from fiction."

• Slack launches AI bot to help manage never-ending work chats - Slack AI, an intelligent assistant bot, is designed to make it easier to catch up on the ever-expanding list of work threads and channels that haunt your dreams.

• Staples Implements AI-Powered Picking Robots for Fulfillment - Staples has partnered with RightHand Robotics for a multiyear project. The deal aims to implement an item-handling system designed to automate operations, leading to higher service levels and next-day delivery to over 98% of the country.

• Mozilla downsizes as it refocuses on Firefox and AI - Mozilla will focus on bringing “trustworthy AI into Firefox.” To do so, it will bring together the teams that work on Pocket, Content and AI/Ml. Mozilla plans to scale back its investment in a number of products, including its VPN, Relay and its Online Footprint Scrubber. Mozilla will also shut down Hubs.
