Its founder hopes to build on this and challenge Google to become the place to find information online - all while using Google's data.

• Tennessee just became the first state to protect musicians and other artists against AI - Supporters say the goal is to ensure that AI tools cannot replicate an artist’s voice without their consent. The bill goes into effect July 1.

• NVIDIA, Johnson & Johnson Medtech partner to integrate AI into surgery - J&J Medtech will use NVIDIA's technology to expand the use of AI in surgery centers, assisting with surgical decision-making and collaboration across operating rooms.

• The UN adopts a resolution backing efforts to ensure artificial intelligence is safe - The General Assembly approved the first United Nations resolution on artificial intelligence Thursday, giving global support to an international effort to ensure the powerful new technology benefits all nations, respects human rights and is “safe, secure and trustworthy.” It has the support of all 193 U.N. member nations.

• USF to launch AI college, the first in Florida - The university says the U.S. is experiencing "a five-fold increase in the demand for AI skills" and a shortage of qualified talent. The college would offer undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare students for in-demand careers, and encourage ethical considerations and trust in AI.

• How Women Shape AI at SAP - Although women comprise about 35% of the workforce at SAP, when it comes to shaping AI it seems they are punching above their weight.

• Scientists create AI models that can talk to each other and pass on skills with limited human input - Scientists modeled human-like communication skills and the transfer of knowledge between AIs — so they can teach each other to perform tasks without a huge amount of training data.

• Super Micro Computer, SoundHound AI, or Nvidia: Which Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stocks Should You Buy? - While shares of Nvidia have gained an impressive 75% so far in 2024, Super Micro Computer has shot 209% higher, and SoundHound AI is up by 268%. But are any of these three AI stocks still worth buying at their current valuations?

• Why is AI so bad at spelling? Because image generators aren’t actually reading text - When it comes to text generators, large language models (LLMs) might seem like they’re reading and responding to your prompts like a human brain — but they’re actually using complex math to match the prompt’s pattern with one in its latent space, letting it continue the pattern with an answer. Image generators generally use diffusion models, which reconstruct an image from noise.

The Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp Program is looking for motivated high school students to join an immersive learning journey.
