• New brain-like transistor performs energy-efficient associative learning at room temperature - Taking inspiration from the human brain, researchers have developed a new synaptic transistor capable of higher-level thinking. Researchers demonstrated that the transistor goes beyond simple machine-learning tasks to categorize data and is capable of performing associative learning.

• China's GPU contender Moore Threads reveals card that can cope with Nvidia’s CUDA - Moore Threads, a Chinese purveyor of GPUs, has unveiled its mightiest model to date – and it may even give market leader Nvidia a little to worry about.

• Anthropic updates its terms of service - They're introducing new, simplified Commercial Terms of Service with an expanded copyright indemnity, as well as an improved developer experience with their beta Messages API.

• 'Dangerous precedent': Brazilian politician used AI to write new law, report says - City leaders in Porto Alegre, Brazil are working to implement artificial intelligence in the lawmaking process, something that could potentially remove the need for politicians altogether.

• Breakingviews: Artificial intelligence will embark on a data dash - The sophistication of AI software depends in large part on the quality of the datasets on which it trains. If AI models keep swallowing information at the current rate, they could run out of superior data before 2026.

• At Dallas airport, artificial intelligence is helping reunite travelers with their lost items - A person needs to first report the item missing, and then include details about the missing object. The AI software then tries to match the item details with pictures and descriptions of things that were found. Once it's a confirmed match, the item is then shipped to the owner.
