Beginning June 18, Acrobat users can use text prompts powered by Adobe Firefly to generate and edit images within PDFs. The Acrobat AI Assistant now supports queries and insights across various document types, including PDFs, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint files.

Introducing Firefly Generative AI in PDFs

Adobe Firefly's new features allow users to enhance existing images and generate new visuals within PDFs without leaving the application. Key features include:

  • Edit Image in Acrobat: Tools like Generative Fill, Remove Background, Erase, and Crop make it easy to modify document images.

  • Generate Image in Acrobat: Users can add new images to PDFs, adjusting size and style to fit any part of the document.

These tools enable users to create professional visuals in Acrobat, catering to diverse needs such as business plans, investor pitch decks, and promotional materials.

Pricing and Availability

Adobe offers free access to Acrobat AI Assistant features from June 18 - June 28. After this period, free Reader or paid Acrobat customers can subscribe to an AI Assistant add-on starting at $4.99 per month until September 4. Acrobat Standard and Pro customers will receive 250 generative credits per month at no additional cost for a limited time to use with the new image features. Initially available in English on desktop, other languages will follow.
