(HOUSTON, TX) -- Houston Area BellyDance Association (HABDA) announces that it will be staging HABDA Presents HABDA (Hottest and most Beautiful Dancers Around). This event will be held Saturday, June 29, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at the Heinen Theater, which is on the Houston Community College Campus. The Heinen Theater is located at the corner of Holman and Austin. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Houston Area Women's Shelter.

This gala show will feature nationally-renowned Karen Barbee, who is pursuing her degree in middle-eastern studies at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as many incredibly-talented Houston area bellydancers. All genres of this art form will be represented, including cabaret, tribal and folkloric. Both soloists and troupes will perform.

Tickets are on sale now. Arabian Royalty seating tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and include preferred seating and a pre-show reception. It is the objective of HABDA to promote the many art forms that comprise bellydance, both to the public and each other, in a positive way.
