The Public's Curiosity About Porn - From the Trenches

Although there are many "insiders" who prefer to call porn "Adult Films", I'm finding that many everyday Americans consistently and automatically use the term "porn"; indeed, if in answering a question and using any term but "porn", many admirers of our work often ignore my use of "Adult Entertainment" or "Adult Films" and constantly refer to our Industry using the (revered) word "porn".
I like their inference that "porn" has become somewhat more accepted as a way of normal life and does not connote negativity. Perhaps it's yet another hint that more and more viewers of porn are not quite as shy as they were in the past when many viewed porn but few acknowledged their use of it? Perhaps this is yet another sign of the mainstreaming of porn?
I recently spent four days in Pensacola, Florida with a large group of running club members. Though I had heard comments about the heavily religious and very conservative population of Pensacola, I was heartened by the acceptance of my occupation from not only individual running club members, but also from others whom I interacted with during my stay. Everyone seems to have a normal curiosity about "porn" and the filming of our videos. It's a healthy curiosity, one that I often experience from others in my daily life. During the Pensacola trip, a number of young ladies wanted to see/touch a porn star penis, and some wanted photos taken with me (in one case, a husband took photos of my erected "member" stuffed between his wife's sexy breasts)---of course, being a horny pervert, I encouraged it!
Even in a bastion of religious conservatism, normal people shed the shackles of what others wanted them to feel, and instead chose the normalcy of sex as a God-given gift for consenting adults. I like the way more and more people aren't as shy about asking about sex and porn! Perhaps the hypocrites who have thoughts about sex but subsequently deny it even to themselves, as well as those who use our products in a masturbatory way but later (and wrongly!) feel like they shouldn't have, are starting to realize that sex is indeed natural, normal, and physically/emotionally healthy! Maybe, just maybe, normal citizens are not as willing to be bound any longer by the mistaken guilt trips that earlier generations foisted upon families and/or individuals?
I guess last year's 700+ million rentals of adult video/DVD manifests considerable consumer demand! Let's hope our governments, at All levels, sees and Respects this need/freedom and the wishes of the normal citizens; the vile and vocal few who still mistakenly cling to a belief of the "sinfulness" of sex, instead of to the realization of God's gift of sex as normal for consenting adults, need to trade-in their brain-washed subjectivity for some realistic American reality and freedom to live without government or religious zealot control over their beliefs and personal lives!
Recently, I've started teaching a Learning Annex course in Los Angeles and San Diego about the making of adult videos. The attendees seem like a cross-section of society, representing all sectors of mankind. Their attentiveness, interactive participation, and curiosity seems like yet another example of normal people wanting to know more about "porn" and the contributions of it to life in our democratic/free country. I see it as yet another sign of the desire of citizens to shy away from being too shy to admit that sex is an important ingredient in their happiness and lives. I like that they are not afraid of what others might think if they are seen attending the course.
Yes, a lot of filmings have happened this last month; the porn world is busy trying to satisfy the consumer demand for varied product, especially the viewer thirst for new and young fresh faces amongst the female actresses. Some of the males in porn are inundated with bookings, sometimes doing two or three sex scenes a day. Yes, we could use some new male faces, too; but, as it says in the link to "How to be a Porn Star" at my DaveCummings.com site, it's not as easy as many guys think it is to perform under pressure-there's a reason why you see the same guys over and over again!
Enjoy your springtime, keep watching porn and enjoying God's gift to Earthlings, keep our troops in your thoughts/prayers, and go that extra mile every so often to be nice to someone just for the sake of being nice!
