Final Doom for Showgirls in Reseda
(RESEDA, CA) -- A former strip club in Reseda was shut down on Monday following numerous lewd conduct and prostitution complaints, according to City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo.
The property owner of the former Showgirls Cabaret was also blocked from leasing to adult businesses in the future, said Delgadillo.
The strip club at 7238 Reseda Blvd. had been a problem for the surrounding community for years, according to Delgadillo. "Today, the people of Reseda take back part of their neighborhood," he said.
Delgadillo said the business should never have been granted a permit to operate in the first place, since it is within 500 feet of a residential zone, which city regulations prohibit.
Under the terms of an agreement between the city and the property owner, the previous tenant was evicted and adult businesses will be banned from leasing the building in the future.
"Our message is clear: Businesses that disobey zoning laws, promote lewd conduct and facilitate prostitution are not welcome in Reseda or any other part of Los Angeles," Delgadillo said.
