Severe Society AVN/XBIZ Noms

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Severe Society Films is honored to receive multiple nominations for the 2013 adult awards season. Two of their most successful 2012 releases have been recognized by AVN, in the Best BDSM release and Best Fem-Dom Strap-on categories, and a third title has garnered a nomination from XBIZ for Fetish release of the Year.
Severe Society Films has been producing high quality BDSM, fetish and kinky sex films since 2007. These most recent AVN Award nominations have capped off their most successful year to date. Their smash hit Strap-on Family Values, starring Allie James, Dee Severe, Tommy Toscano and newcomer Marcelo, has been nominated for Best Fem-Dom Strap-On release, the company’s third consecutive nomination in that category.
"This was such a fun shoot," declared SSF co-owner Severe, who also directed the film. "Many of our releases are really dark BDSM, so Strap-on Family Values’ funny storyline was a pleasant change of pace. Strap-on is one of our favorite genres and we thank AVN for its continued recognition of our work."
The Devil’s Workshop: Payback’s a Bitch with Amber Rayne, Kiki D’aire and Tim Woodman has been nominated for Best BDSM release (SSF’s fourth year of being nominated in that category). "I'm delighted to share a nomination with the awesome people at Severe Society Films," said Woodman. "It was an honor to get to write/direct/perform for the first Devil's Workshop video, and I hope we do more excellent titles that will be worthy of future nominations. Working with Kiki D’aire and Amber Rayne is its own reward, but it's very nice to get the nomination too!"
"We continue to have the good fortune to get some of the most fantastic talent in fetish working for us," says SSF co-owner Jimmy Broadway, who handled the cinematography on all three films. "They are people who practice these fetishes in their personal lives, not just when the cameras are on them, and I’m pleased that the industry recognizes the amazing and authentic performances they give us."
SSF also continued their innovative approach of bringing a fetish twist to a mainstream genre with Bound Together, which marks the company’s first romantic "couples" release. Starring Karina Kay and Octavian, Bound Together is nominated for an XBIZ Award for Fetish release of the Year. XBIZ continues to recognize the fetish side of the adult film industry, and this will be the inaugural award in this category. In 2012, SSF was nominated by XBIZ for Fetish Studio of the Year, a category that has been dropped this year.
"Fetish has become vastly more mainstream this year!" quipped Severe, who directed Bound Together. "The new acceptance of fetish presents so many more opportunities for us," she noted. "I’m thrilled we got such a good reception for our romantic BDSM movie. It was a new avenue for us and we’ll definitely be shooting Bound Together 2 in the near future."
