Starstruck With Tara Star: AVN

Porn. Just a simple, four letter word. For being such a tiny word, it conjures up a vast amount of images in ones mind. For some, the word brings to mind the classic images of Nina, Ginger, Christy, or Ron. For others, in their minds eye, they see Kendra, Bonnie, Christy, or Kieran. For me, aside from considering if a particular scene represented my best angles, the image I see before me is slightly different. I see... AVN.
I've not been to Los Angeles recently to do any shooting. I've instead been focusing more on my east coast takeover. I was there in the summer, then came the production halt. To keep myself busy, I ventured into the world of webcams, and doing some east coast work. What can I say, world domination begins with baby steps! Being that I've been lost in this world the last few months, I somehow wasn't aware that AVN has such a thing as trophy girls!
Now it is necessary to remember, I am not the porn awards expert that many of you would think. I've watched the show on television a few times, but that's the extent of my knowledge. I never stopped to think about who transports the trophies, and how they came to be doing that particular job. The kicker is, I am hopelessly addicted to my tweeting, yet remained blissfully unaware. In my defense, I've only recently made my big splash into the adult industry. June was really the beginning of this wacky adventure, and so, I think I can be forgiven.
It all started innocently enough. Another restless night found me checking the Twitterverse for something interesting. When, what do I see? A message from a friend telling me that the deadline for submissions for trophy girls was but a few hours away! I nearly choked on my fig newton! Suddenly, the race was on! Which computer housed the best pictures of me? "Which photo represents my enormous boobs the best?" "Do my legs look to long in this one?" "I think my head looks a bit gigantic in that one." "Hmmm, I'm a bit to 'hippy' there." These issues are no small thing people! This is AVN!
Imagine it. The best hair and makeup around. Great shoes, a fantastic outfit. Meeting and talking to the biggest names in porn. And, as if the shoes aren't enough, walking out on that stage! All the lights in your face, the cameras watching, and millions of viewers at home and thinking to themselves, "Damn, I hope she doesn't trip on anything." It's very near to heaven, as far as I am concerned. Yes, my friends, these are the visions dancing around in my head, screw the sugarplums.
There are many beautiful girls vying for those coveted positions. And, although I inhabit a world of fantasy and make believe, I am a realist. I appreciate that the odds of me finding myself on that stage, in a trophy girl spot, are slim to none. Like I said, my path to world domination may be a slightly long one, with much smaller steps. But, not one for giving up easily, I will continue to inundate the powers that be with my photos. Hey, a porn starlet can dream, right? What else would I write about if not these things?
Although I know the extreme feeling of disappointment will be palpable from the world, if I were not to be chosen, there is yet a silver lining! Fear not my loyal readers, all is not lost! I will still be attending the expo, in a press related capacity. Think of the adventures I will find myself in there. The craziness and total hilarity that you've all come to know and love. I have no doubt that there will be material for columns stretching ahead many months. I can only imagine the foolishness that I will bring down upon myself in such a setting. Please feel free to have a laugh at the impending nonsense, just as I am now.
In closing, I'd like to leave you all with these thoughts. Some people dream of vacations, huge houses, fancy cars, positions of power or prestige. That's all well and good, and I am sure quite fulfilling, to someone. And then there are the dreams of the porn people. One porn person specifically. This porn person. I may never find myself on the stage at AVN for any legit reason. Doing something totally idiotic? That's always a possibility. But one thing I can tell you, I'll have some amazing stories to share, and, if nothing else, the pics of my boobs will be f'ing fantastic! Stay sexy my friends!
