Billing and Delivery System (Bads)
Description: The platform software is a three-tiered application architecture built on the Microsoft .Net Framework (.Net) which makes use of the Microsoft Message Queuing (Msmq) architecture to handle asynchronous processing of mobile messages, mobile billing operations and subscription management operations. The Software also provides a service architecture that allows application specific services to be built that take advantage of the underlying architecture. Existing services within the platform will also be provided, including but not limited to services that handle mobile alert subscriptions, mobile content subscriptions and single sales of mobile content.
The backend tier of the Software consists of a Microsoft Sql Server database cluster. Communication with the database layer occurs through stored procedures exposed by the database, and can occur from both the middle and front-end tiers. The full database schema, including table structures and stored procedures will be provided, as well as any configuration data necessary to set up, administer and operate the Software.
The middle tier consists of a large number of .Net objects, several Windows services and a set of Msmq queues. These components are responsible for the processing of messages within the queues, as well as the implementation of any business logic associated with the services provided. All source code and solution files for the .Net components and the Windows services will be provided, as well as any configuration information required to create and configure the Msmq queues.
The front-end tier consists of web-based applications, .Net web services and a set of Http notification handlers. These components are deployed on load- balanced web servers. The front-end components can communicate with the middle tier by submitting messages to the Msmq queues and with the database through a set of framework objects implemented in .Net libraries. The web applications allow for access to and management of the Bads software system. The web services provide an Api for external systems to access Bads to retrieve data or initiate events. The Http handlers respond to Http requests from various third-party systems to signal events that have occurred on those systems that affect processing within Bads.
