(LAS VEGAS, NV) -- VCX scores an XBIZ Feature Movie of the Year Award nomination for ''Angel Face,'' its good-girl-in-the-big-city epic directed by Hall of Famer Roy Karch. The movie's noms are in addition to five AVN Award nominations. The movie's star, sultry redhead Marie McCray took the nod for Best Actress, and nymphet Dakoda Brookes received recognition and a nod for Best Solo Sex Scene.
Also AVN nominated were ''Eruption'' and ''Johnny Wadd'' — both starring John Holmes — for Best Classic release. A collaboration between B. Jones and Jack the Zipper, ''Craig's list Compulsion'' took a Best Vignette release nomination.
''Angel Face'' follows McCray as she leaves her small town for the bright lights of Hollywood, where she loses her innocence on the road to fame. In addition to Brookes, the movie features fan favorites, including busty beauty Eva Angelina, hardcore sexpot Jenny Hendrix and the stylings of Jada Fire.
Also nominated for AVN's Best Classic release is ''Eruption,'' one of the first titles released by VCX as part of its Cal-Vista Classics acquisition in March, and ''Johnny Wadd.'' Directed by classic Golden Age legend Bob Chinn, ''Johnny Wadd'' features a noir-inspired script that could have been penned by Jim Thompson.
VCX President David Sutton promises more classics and new releases in the new year. ''You ain't seen nothing yet,'' he promised.
