(LAMAR, MO) -- The world's craziest Grandma is hitting the YouTube airwaves. Phone Sex Grandma, the hit Slamdance mockumentary short, has partnered with Internet giants YouTube and B-side Entertainment, to begin a major internet launch.
Dixie Productions has announced that by partnering with YouTube and B-side, the complete 9 minute short will be available for viewing on YouTube. Viewers will be able to watch the entire short on YouTube's site, then have the option of owning the DVD from B-side.
Directed by Jack Truman, Grandma has been a festival hit. The 9 minute mockumentary, about a 60-something woman working a phone sex line in a small Southern ghost town, premiered at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival to standing- room only audiences. Since its hit premiere, the cult-following short has played over 30 fests to date, earning rave reviews.
Truman's real-life Mother, Opal Dockery, stars as the lone cast member. The Mother/Son team's new documentary short the Outhouse premiered last week at Slamdance's 2008 festival in Park City. Following the screening, discussions began with YouTube and B-side for the Grandma internet launch.
''We want to share Opal with the world, and make her everybody's favorite Grandma'', stated Truman in press materials. ''YouTube, B-side and Slamdance are helping us make that happen.''
