VividCash/FlyntDigital Offices Closed for Memorial Day
by: Company Press Release
During fierce fighting at the Battle of Saipan in World War II, Japanese troops broke through American lines attacking even non-combat surgical units. Medic Captain Ben Salomon (2nd Battalion, 105th Infantry Regiment) was in a tent medical station when Japanese soldiers broke in and began bayoneting the wounded. Salomon killed several enemy soldiers and then held off the advancing enemy with a machine gun to allow the wounded enough time to evacuate to safety. When Captain Salomon's body was later found, 98 dead enemy soldiers were piled around his position.
In tribute to our fallen servicemen and women, VividCash and FlyntDigital offices will be closed Memorial Day, Monday May 29. As always, we will be e-mail accessible for any serious issues that may arise, with administrative concerns being addressed upon staff return on Tuesday, May 30.
Memorial Day reminds us that it is not the super-wealthy, arrogant celebrity, whose name is plastered over our TV screens, who is the hero. It is the courageous, selfless soldier, known by but a few, whose name is simply etched in stone.
