  • Google has a new head of Search — and she’s all in on AI - Liz Reid, who has been at Google for more than 20 years and has most recently been leading the company’s efforts with AI search, known as Search Generative Experience (SGE). Reid noted all these new search tools, are new ways of thinking about search. “With SGE,” she wrote, “we are able to serve a wider range of information needs and answer new types of questions, including more complex questions, like comparisons or longer queries.”

  • Fitbit is about to get some major AI upgrades, powered by Google's 'Personal Health' LLM - Google is launching an AI-powered chatbot for Fitbit where you'll be able to tap into personalized coaching that helps you achieve your fitness and health goals.

  • France fines Google $271 million for training AI on news articles- It said Google failed to negotiate in good faith, based on "transparent, objective and non-discriminatory criteria," failed to provide the publishers with the information needed to assess how much they should be compensated to offer their content.

  • AI-powered humanoid robot can serve you food, stack the dishes — and have a conversation with you - Figure 01 learned how to make coffee by watching a human do it, and now it can speak to you like a person thanks to an integration with OpenAI's technology. Should everything in the video work as claimed, it means an advancement in two key areas for robotics: the mechanical engineering behind dexterous, self-correcting movements like people can perform, and real-time natural language processing (NLP).

  • Saudi Arabia reportedly in talks with VC firms like Andreessen Horowitz to create mammoth $40 billion AI fund - The move would see a partnership formed between Saudi Arabia’s $925 billion Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Andreessen Horowitz, one of Silicon Valley’s largest venture capital firms. Saudi Arabia’s (PIF) has been on a buying spree as it seeks to diversify the kingdom’s revenues away from oil.

  • 3 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stocks to Buy With $1,150 and Hold for Decades - Some high-potential stocks stand out from the crowd. Here is why investors should consider buying and holding Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW), Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR), and ASML (NASDAQ: ASML) for decades to come.

  • Missed out on NVDA, SMCI and AMD? This AI chip stock is seen as next big winner - Analysts at Lynx equity strategists said they “expect (Micron (NASDAQ:MU) MU’s earnings event today to be a wake-up call highlighting the central role flash storage plays in the ongoing AI revolution,” explaining it is calling out a trend that is “more than mere gradualism.”

  • In AI, the big just keep getting bigger - The main reason giant companies are calling the shots in AI is that it's fantastically expensive to build and run the kind of AI that's taken off in the wake of ChatGPT's success. Startups daunted by directly taking on the giants are more likely to thrive by finding market niches where they can adapt the big companies' giant AI models to the needs of specific industries, professions and use cases.

  • Nvidia’s Jensen Huang says AI hallucinations are solvable, artificial general intelligence is 5 years away - About hallucinations: “Add a rule: For every single answer, you have to look up the answer,” Huang says, referring to this practice as “retrieval-augmented generation,” describing an approach very similar to basic media literacy: Examine the source and the context. “The AI shouldn’t just answer; it should do research first to determine which of the answers are the best.” About AGI: “If we specified AGI to be something very specific, a set of tests where a software program can do very well — or maybe 8% better than most people — I believe we will get there within 5 years,” Huang explains.

  • GitHub’s latest AI tool can automatically fix code vulnerabilities - Sentry announced its AI Autofix feature for debugging production code and now, a few hours later, GitHub is launching the first beta of its code scanning autofix feature for finding and fixing security vulnerabilities during the coding process.

  • ServiceNow is developing AI through mix of building, buying and partnering - “It is kind of three dimensional chess right now to figure out whether to build, buy or partner. I think the biggest thing that we try to prioritize is how we can make decisions that are in the long-term best interest of our customers, and that differentiate us from what we know we’re world-class at, which is enterprise automation in our platform.”

  • Quilt is building AI assistants for solutions teams - Quilt’s core products are AI-powered assistants designed to help solutions engineers with tasks like filling out requests for proposals, answering basic technical questions and prepping for demos. “Quilt saves [teams] time with routine tasks so they can spend more time with customers and help win more deals,” Chen said.
