• HubSpot picks up B2B data provider Clearbit to enhance its AI platform - The deal also brings Clearbit’s over 400,0000 users and 1,500+ business customers to HubSpot and will eventually see the two platforms combine in order to provide HubSpot’s customer base with expanded data plus actionable insights.

• Google launches generative AI tools for product imagery to US advertisers and merchants - Via the new, AI-powered Product Studio, merchants and advertisers will be able to leverage text-to-image AI capabilities to create new product imagery for free, simply by typing in a prompt of the image they want to use.

• Microsoft’s new AI-powered Office assistant is here — if you’ve got $9,000 and 300 friends - Businesses willing to pay the premium will be able to use Microsoft 365 Copilot to summarize documents, generate emails, create plans from notes, and even improve Excel analysis.

• Scarlett Johansson hits AI app with legal action for cloning her voice in an ad - The ad was for an AI image editor, called Lisa AI: 90s Yearbook & Avatar, and featured an AI-generated version of Johansson’s voice.

• New Apple Watch to detect blood pressure, sleep apnea; health coach service planned: Report - The watch will support a new system for detecting sleep apnea and a blood pressure sensor.

  Apple is also working on a health coaching service and new health features for its AirPods and upcoming mixed-reality headset.

• MetNet-3: A state-of-the-art neural weather model available in Google products - A new weather model called MetNet-3, developed by Google Research and Google DeepMind, provides high resolution predictions up to 24 hours ahead for a larger set of core variables, including precipitation, surface temperature, wind speed and direction, and dew point. MetNet-3 creates a temporally smooth and highly granular forecast, with lead time intervals of 2 minutes and spatial resolutions of 1 to 4 kilometers.

• New AWS service lets customers rent Nvidia GPUs for quick AI projects - More and more companies are running large language models, which require access to GPUs. The most popular of those by far are from Nvidia, making them expensive and often in short supply. To help solve that problem, AWS launched Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Capacity Blocks for ML today, enabling customers to buy access to these GPUs for a defined amount of time, typically to run some sort of AI-related job such as training a machine learning model or running an experiment with an existing model.

• Qualcomm let people try their AI phone at the Snapdragon Summit this year - Generative photo expansion is a feature supported by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. You pinch and zoom out of an image and watch as generative AI fills in the borders in a matter of seconds. The next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform for smartphones and tablets also has an NPU on board to drive whatever sort of AI features phone makers can conceive.
